Mobile App Product Owner

The Global Banking COO team is looking to hire an experienced Agile Product Owner to drive the definition, implementation and commercialization of an internal mobile app.

The key objective is to create a Mobile app which will enable;
1. targeted internal communication to relevant user groups
2. relevant key client & market information to be readily available (eg. Client 360 view)
3. reduced TAT of key activities by providing targeted functionality (eg. Connectivity to existing CRM platform)


  • Perform the Product Owner role as part of the Agile delivery team
  • Eliciting requirements from front facing staff & stakeholders across various business segments and product lines (Global Banking, Transaction Banking, Financial Markets, Capital Markets & Corporate Finance)
  • Creating and maintaining a prioritized Product Backlog, ensuring it is visible, transparent and clear
  • Defining user stories to facilitate clear communication of requirements to the delivery team, including ‘definition of done’
  • Preparing the Agile execution documentation in line with Agile delivery framework, including release plans
  • Clearly communicating priorities, objectives/ goals & acceptance criteria to the agile delivery team
  • Ensuring submission of progress reports, benefits reports, red packs and closure reports to governance forums
  • Ensuring project deliverables are of desired quality and have appropriate endorsement / sign offs
  • Commercialization of Mobile app with front facing staff, including Training, Comms
  • Responsible for tracking benefits realization and adoption on an ongoing basis

What is needed to succeed in this role?

  • Experience of developing and rolling out mobile apps
  • Proven track record in delivering projects successfully through Agile methodology -ideally as a Product Owner
  • Knowledge of CRM platforms would be beneficial eg. Sales force
  • Strong stakeholder management ability in handling wide ranging and senior stakeholders (across segments/product areas)
  • Understanding of wholesale/ corporate banking products, processes and an appreciation of the role of RM’s and their needs would be valuable
  • Proven ability to perform under a high pressure and dynamic environment
  • Solid leadership skills in managing a team with varied skillsets
  • Understanding and appreciation of the technical considerations involved with delivering mobile and digital initiatives within banks, including; infrastructure, security, integration etc
